It’s a region where the World Cup has never been brought home, but North and Central America have consistently been ably represented by the most passionate of nations, Mexico. El Tri stormed through qualifying and are now looking to make inroads in Russia. Their presence at a major tournament is always a joy, and one of the most intriguing storylines sees hero Rafael Márquez return to play his at his 5th World Cup, becoming only the third player ever to do so.
Looking at the shirt’s he’ll be wearing in Russia, there’s a lot to like both home and away. The home takes a key adidas feature this year, the broken up 90s stripes, and injects them on both sides of the shirt. It looks great in a complimentary green to the main, darker green of the shirt. For the away shirt, there’s a classy set of hoops nodding to the flag. Think Sampdoria but a bit greener. Let’s hope Mexico go far, so we can enjoy these kits a little bit longer.
