What is Puma Future?
Released alongside the One at the start of 2018, the Puma Future introduced us to a brand-new generation of Puma football boots. This was a direct replacement to the popular Puma evoPower series, which had been discontinued just a few months earlier, and signalled major advancements in boot tech innovation.
The original model was the Puma Future 18.1, drenched in vibrant shades of yellow and making an immediate impact out on the pitch. Since then, Puma have introduced the 19.1 and 4.1 models, as they continuously work on upgrading the tech and improving the overall design.
Why Should I Choose Them?
The Future is the first football boot to make use of Puma’s infamous Netfit technology, which provides endless lacing possibilities to enhance comfort, lockdown and fit. Previously used on Puma’s running trainers, this fully-customisable lacing system is unlike anything you’ll find on another pair of boots
This is a boot designed for agile attackers and speedy forwards, with the RAPIDAGILITY outsole helping wearers change direction at speed. Each model also boasts an evoKnit upper and 3D Havoc Frame, built to improve touch and control of the football, although it’s worth noting that the quality of these features has improved significantly in more recent models.
The Puma Future is a comfortable, lightweight football boot which offers something completely different to other silos. Although the eye is certainly drawn to the selection of gorgeous colourways, it’s the ground-breaking boot tech which makes the Future such a special football boot.
Who Wears Puma Future Football Boots?
Puma Future football boots are ideally suited to attacking players, particularly those who like to twist and turn their way past defenders. The likes of Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez and Nicolas Pepe are all currently rocking the Future at the highest level, but these boots are by no means limited to players with attacking flair.
Milan Skriniar, Samuel Umtiti and Nemanja Matic are amongst the more defensive-minded wearers, while even goalkeepers like Jan Oblak love to lace up in the Future. Although the boots might be more popular amongst attacking players, the Puma Future is also a great option for certain types of defender.
