At FOOTY.COM we like to praise and celebrate boot pioneers, and they don’t come more forward thinking than Lotto. Long before adidas revealed the ACE 16+ PureControl, Lotto dropped the world’s first laceless football boot, when they introduced us to the Zhero Gravity (Link to Lotto Gravity boot product page) in 2006. Not content with leaving it there, the Italians launched the first ever reflective boot design in 2013. The Lotto Solista (Link to Lotto Solista boot product page) is made up of one upper material and gives a reflective look to the boot, ensuring you light up those dark 5-a-side nights!
Established in Italy back in 1973, Lotto branched into football footwear after success in the tennis clothing market. But it wasn’t until the late 80s and early 90s that the Italian designed football boots became a household name. Sponsorships with Italy World Cup winning captain and keeper Dino Zoff, then Ruud Gullit and his mighty Milan side helped introduce the brand onto the world stage. Along with being worn by a host of players in Serie A, deals with Napoli, Juventus and Chievo followed and helped Lotto to become synonymous with Italian football in the 90s.
