12 best pre-match warm-up shirts 2023/24

Always a little cheaper, always a little more dramatic. We have a lot of love for the pre-match football shirts that come from clubs every season.
We’ve scoured the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and even travelled further afield in our hunt.
During our journey, we’ve witnessed a fair few horrors. But luckily, we’ve also spotted plenty of stone-cold classics too.
Hydrate, stretch those hammies and get your knees up through our list of the best pre-match shirts for 2023/24.
Lille
Well, we did warn you that things could get a little weird. The French Ligue 1 has been lit up by Lille and their wacky red, white and blue pre-match top.
Looking like an MLS throwback (not a bad thing), this New Balance jersey is loud and fun. We imagine this’ll have the kids of Lille screaming “s’il vous plaît!” at their parents.
Crystal Palace
Graffiti played a strong part in the Crystal Palace 2023/24 third shirt. For their training top, Macron have made it even more prominent.
Looking like something the Fresh Prince of Bel Air could pair with Nike Air Jordans, this shirt is an ode to Palace’s South London roots. It’s a joy.
Venezia
Inevitable style delivered directly from Venice. There’s an unknown force that always draws us into this incredible mix of black, orange and green.
As always, it’s never too much from Venezia. They know where the line is, and they push their designs to the limit every season.
Fiorentina
This stylish Serie A club dropped a trio of incredible kits for 2023/24. And they’re going to look pretty smart during their warm-ups too.
With a swirling double of I Viola’s purple (what else?) or an ice-cold blue option, both sets of Fiorentina’s pre-match wear are excellent.
England Women
The Lionesses have been on an incredible run of form lately, but so have their kits and training tops. This pre-match is the latest addition to a quality England training wear setup.
Who knew that layered pentagons could look so eye-catching? Giving off the look of pink roses on a light blue base, this is as crisp as Wiegman-ball.
Juventus
Those zebra stripes look good on the Old Lady. That’s not a sentence you thought you’d hear today, is it?
Matching this season’s home shirt with its dashes of yellow, Juventus’ pre-match look is prancing joyfully into our ranking. Not unlike a zebra.
Manchester City
Sticking with the sky blue of Manchester City at home, Puma have delivered something which is quintessential Citeh.
If we’re honest, we’re surprised they didn’t just go with all silver. That would’ve been a major brag, considering the amount of silverware they’ve picked up.
Ajax
The Eredivisie’s Ajax are known to drop the coldest kits on the planet, year-on-year. They’ve now taken that reputation literally with their frosty pre-match wear.
We’re going to replace the Kudus they’ve lost, with our own kudos. Lovely warm-up game Ajax of Amsterdam. Lovely.
Tottenham Hotspur
Using purple again was a risk, especially after last season’s horror away shirt. Shudder. But this Spurs top takes ‘90s TV white noise and makes it fun.
Spurs’ pre-match warm-ups are going to feel very different without ex-captain Harry Kane, but at least they’re going to look cool.
Real Madrid
Wacky geometric shapes and club colours thrown around in a careless fashion? Yeah, that sounds like a pre-match top we can get on board with.
Heeey Jude, don’t make it bad. And we’re sure that he won’t make it look bad. Just like he’s made his Real Madrid side look even better.
Boca Juniors
Get yourself to the party. The La Bombonera party. Based on the wild confetti-laden celebrations of Boca Juniors fans, this is a brilliant example of how to include club traditions.
If it wasn’t for the iconic stripe, this training shirt could easily pass off as a home jersey. You’d have to be loco like Marcos Rojo not to grab this one.
Leicester City
We’ve saved the wildest until last. Now, this is a proper training kit. It seems Leicester City have pulled out all the stops, now they’re in the Championship.
Slight Boca vibe, slight bruised banana of Arsenal vibe, slight ‘90's kids’ cartoons vibe. It’s got it all, and we love the crazy result.
With 100s to choose from, it was difficult to narrow it down to this many. We know you’ll have your favourites, so shout them up on our social channels!
