FIFA 20 kits - ranking the best kits for Ultimate Team
Even if your tactics are rubbish, our guide on the best FIFA 20 kits will make sure your club always looks good on the pitch.
FIFA Ultimate Team has never been about building the best squad. Finding the best kits for your club has always been far more important.
Okay, so maybe the players matter just a bit, but this year EA are serving up an all-you-can-eat buffet of awesome designs. This has been a particularly strong season for football shirts and (much like a good buffet) choosing what to go for has never seemed harder. Personally, I want a little bit of everything.
Before you suffer a serious selection headache, I’ve put together a quick guide on the best FIFA 20 kits for your new Ultimate Team. After all, even if you suck at the game, you’ll at least want your side to look good while they’re out on the pitch.
This blog is part of our FIFA 20 series. Check out the rest of the series below:
15. Lazio - Away Kit
This definitely isn’t the best Lazio kit I’ve ever seen, but it still offers a crisp, clean and sponsor-less design which is perfect for Ultimate Team. The club’s famous shades of blue look fantastic in those vertical stripes, and it’s a simple (yet effective) look which is incredibly smart indeed.
I don’t think I’d ever use this as my main, but it acts as an excellent away kit if your home strip is a little more colourful.
14. Manchester City - Third Kit
This is one for an ice lolly enthusiasts out there. Manchester City’s bizarre third kit might look horrendous in real-life, but it’s packed with the kind of vibrancy and colour we all love to see on FIFA. Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no question this is a truly distinctive look, and it will certainly lend your club an unmistakable dash of character.
13. Everton - Away Kit
Pink football shirts are notoriously difficult to get right, but I don’t think anyone’s done it quite as well as Everton this year. It might look relatively simple at first, but the subtle two-tone sash looks absolutely gorgeous in-game, while that peculiar salmon shade is unlike anything else you’ll see on a football shirt this season.
If you want your club to look pretty in pink, this is the kit to go for in FIFA 20.
12. Coventry - Away Kit
What a year it’s been for Coventry City kits. Although their home shirt is every bit as lovely, it’s their dazzling away kit which looks particularly good in FIFA 20. The vibrant shade of yellow obviously helps your players stand out on the pitch, while the contrasting gradient design looks beautiful on any close-up camera shots. A great choice for any side.
11. Koln - Third Kit
Now we’re talking. This kit is all about that eye-catching graphic, which stands out beautifully against the dark blue colourway and acts as a tribute to Cologne Cathedral. That distinctive pattern is actually based on the cathedral’s spire, and the result is a shirt pattern which is just plain awesome to look at. I’m a fan.
10. Inter Milan - Away Kit
Mint colourways have been all the rage this season, but nobody’s pulled it off better than Inter Milan. The likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid have both opted for minty fresh looks this season, but the iconic Pirelli sponsor and beautiful gold detailing sets the Italian giants a class apart. A very stylish choice.
9. Braga - Third Kit
Wow. I mean, a kit inspired by Roman warriors is always gonna look pretty cool on Ultimate Team, and Braga’s new third shirt is all about intimidating the opposition. And showing off your pecs, apparently. The subdued grey colourway thankfully doesn’t look dull in-game, and it’s impossible to take your eyes off that chiselled Centurion graphic.
Are you not entertained?
8. Aberdeen - Away Kit
Now this is classy. Drenched in a beautiful shade of gold and featuring a classic adidas template, this tasty Aberdeen number is one of the coolest kits on FIFA 20. The crest and sponsor integrate perfectly with the design, while there’s a certain sheen to the gold which helps you really stand out on the pitch.
And, let’s face it, gold is never a bad colour to go for.
7. Parma - Third Kit
Parma’s third kit honestly wouldn’t look out of place in Need for Speed Underground 2. The dazzling neon pattern looks absolutely fantastic, with shades of blue and yellow used to form a distinctive phoenix graphic. It’s just a shame about that obstructive sponsor running slap-bang in the middle of it. Oh well, it’s still pretty awesome.
6. Club America - Home Kit
I’ve always been a big fan of using yellow kits on FIFA. They provide something different to the standard reds and blues used by most other players, and this season Club America have come up with something truly special. Their home kit is absolutely packed with colour, and the eye is immediately drawn to the unique graphic on the chest. Magnificent.
5. Forest Green - Home Kit
Here we go. Without question, this is one of the most unique kits you’re likely to find in FIFA 20. The fact it’s made from 50% bamboo will have absolutely no bearing on the game whatsoever, but the eye-catching zebra pattern is nothing short of iconic. I usually avoid playing in green kits because my players blend into the pitch, but Forest Green are forcing me to make an exception.
4. Pumas UNAM - Away Kit
Since the game mode was first introduced, UNAM have always provided some of the best FUT kits. This year is certainly no exception, and the away kit looks particularly striking out on the pitch. The navy colourway is once again very nice to look at, but it’s that iconic puma graphic which has always set UNAM apart from the rabble. It’s just incredible.
3. Western United - Away Kit
If you’re looking for something completely different, then allow me to direct your attention to the dazzling Western United away kit. The mind-boggling geometric pattern might make you go dizzy after a while, but this kit will help your club create a truly unique identity in FIFA 20. And the best part? There’s no annoying sponsor getting in the way of it all.
2. Roma - Away Kit
The Roman Empire has never looked so good. It’s been an incredibly good year for Roma shirts, and their fantastic new away kit will be very popular with FUT players. The lightning graphic is just absolutely fantastic, inspired by the Roman god of the sky and streaking across the shirt in the classic club colours. Yep, I’ll be using this a lot.
1. Kaizer Chiefs - Home Kit
I’m not sure I even need to say much here. You only need to look at this to see why I’ve crowned it as the best kit of FIFA 20. The words “mesmerising”, “dizzying” and “outrageous” all immediately spring to mind here, but none of these descriptions really do justice to how good this looks in-game.
So, I won’t bore you with synonyms. Just sit back and enjoy. Then, more to the point, get on the transfer market and buy yourself one. It’s worth all the coins you can get.
FIFA 20 will be released on PS4, Xbox and PC on September 27th 2019. Before you go ahead and preorder a copy, don’t forget to compare prices with FOOTY.COM to save a few extra pennies. Besides, you can then use those savings on FIFA points. It’s a win-win.
