The Best 2018/19 Football League Kits

Lower league football kits have never received the attention they deserve.

There are some absolutely massive clubs down in the second, third and fourth tiers of English football, but their new kits just aren’t ever released to any kind of fanfare. While Premier League sides continue to unleash their new designs with gusto, we don’t ever really hear a lot about kits outside the English top-flight.

However, this season might just be a little different, because the lower divisions are home to some of the best 2018/19 kits we’ve seen so far. So, what are the best kits in the Championship, League One and League Two this year?

We’ve all heard about Villa’s troubles off the pitch, but at least they’re going to look damn good while they’re on it.

Their new 2018/19 home strip was designed by a guy called Luke Roper, a life-long Villa fan and founder of the Luke 1977 label. Designed in collaboration with Fanatics, this extremely stylish design has been absolutely flying off the shelves at Villa Park this summer. Featuring a gorgeous two-tone purple design, the strip incorporates two thick stripes down the middle of the shirt. Coming complete with the famous light-blue detailing and an extremely smart V-neck collar, this is one of the best football kits we’ve seen anywhere this season- never mind just in the Championship.

Oh, and please take a second to appreciate that awesome Luke 1977 logo on the right breast. Very classy indeed.

It’s safe to say you won’t find another kit quite like this one. The Wycombe Wanderers strip has never looked better than it does this season, with kit supplier O’Neills completely outdoing themselves with this tasty little number.

The bespoke design features a bold swan graphic across the front of the shirt, paying homage to a symbol which has become synonymous with the Chairboys down the years. This unique graphic sits atop a beautiful two-tone blue design, which is split into a striking quadrant pattern and continued on the sleeves and collar.

The vibrant ‘Cherry Red Records’ sponsor completes the look, offering the perfect complement to the best League One kit you’ll see this season.

Yet another absolutely beautiful Macron football kit. Image:

This is one of the most stylish kits Macclesfield have had in a very, very long time. So, to mark their return to the Football League, we felt it right to have them at the top of this list. The new design features the signature dark blues and whites that have always been a part of the Silkmen’s identity; while the two-tone striped pattern really makes this shirt stand out above the rest. The club crest and Macron logos stand out prominently on the chest, while it’s impossible to ignore the impact of the Zaki Artist Management sponsor. ZAM!

A white V-neck collar completes the look, while the Silkmen will also be showing off white shorts and blue socks this season.
