Adidas Do It Again - 18/19 Juventus Third Kit
The hype surrounding the new Juventus kits has just reached a whole new level.
It’s fair to say Juventus fans are enjoying a decent summer.
Although their country weren’t involved in the 2018 World Cup, the Juve faithful have spent the past few months celebrating their fourth consecutive domestic double. After clinching the Serie A title for the seventh time in a row, you can’t argue with the fact that Juventus are currently the dominant force in Italian football.
Well, now they have Cristiano Ronaldo, too.
In a transfer that’s being cited as the “deal of the century”, the greatest player on the planet has joined a league that’s struggled to attract big names in recent years. Sleeping giants and underachieving clubs abound in Italy’s top division, but the arrival of CR7 has unquestionably put Serie A back on the map.
And while Italian football is bound to benefit from this monumental transfer, you’ve got to say that adidas have proven to be the big winners so far. Reports suggest that they sold over 500,000 Juventus kits in the first 24 hours of Ronaldo’s arrival- and those are just the ones with his name on the back.
The Portugal captain joins a side that have always been famous for their striking football kits, and fans have been going crazy over the sight of him in those iconic black and white stripes. The result has been a spike in shirt sales and a stark reminder of what it means to play for The Old Lady, and we expect this sudden surge to last the remainder of the summer.
Adidas are certainly doing their part in stoking the fire, too. Today they’ve decided to unleash the 2018/19 Juventus third kit, using the Ronaldo transfer to generate one hell of a buzz as we approach the start of the new season. But it’s not just a case of riding the hype-train for the sake of it: because the new kit also happens to be downright beautiful.
Implementing a dark grey, almost metallic colourway, adidas have created one of the sleekest designs we’ve seen so far this summer. Standing in complete contrast to the garish green kit of last season, the new third kit is made from 100% recycled polyester material- as Juventus join Manchester United in partnering up with Parley For The Oceans.
The new kit is brought to life by vibrant yellow detailing across the logos and Three Stripes, while a subtle all-over graphic really makes the shirt pop and sparkle. In short, adidas have created a football shirt that looks just as good on the street as it does on the pitch, and they need to take my money right now.
Ronaldo’s epic transfer story might not quite feel real just yet, but it won’t be long now until he’s stepping out at the Allianz Stadium in one of these stunning football kits. If you want to grab your own, then compare prices at FOOTY.COM today.
