Puma Release Blackout Eclipse Pack
German retailer Puma have released two new designs for their Puma Future and their Puma One boots. Continuing the trend of other boot makers at this time of year, Puma have opted for an all-black colourway for the ‘Eclipse Pack’.
March must be a depressing month for boot designers. Adidas have launched an all-black ‘Nite Crawler’ collection; Under Armour dropped their ‘Black Magnetico’ colourway, and Nike just released their 20th anniversary edition of the ‘What The Mercurial’ boots – in black.
2018 got off to a colourful start, with boot designs coming out thick and fast in a number of luminous colourways and sharp neon designs. Now, it seems everything has gone dark. The newest boots to join the dark side are the Puma One and Puma Future. Oh, and they look absolutely gorgeous, too.
After all of the other boot releases we’ve seen this year, we can’t help but feel the all-black look is possibly one of the cleanest Puma boots of the season. Antoine Griezmann and Sergio Aguero are Puma’s hype men for their two most popular boot designs, so we’re hoping to see these football icons showing off the new designs soon.
The same innovative boot tech incorporated into previous One and the Future 18.1 Netfit designs is still included with the new colourway, so you don’t have to worry about your performance being affected by switching up the colours.
The textile upper of the Future, combined with Puma’s revolutionary Netfit lacing system, provides endless lacing options to suit any foot shape. Combine that with the form-fitting knitted sock for a snug ankle fit and the lightweight Pebax outsole (with mix of conical and bladed studs) and you’ve got a complete boot fit for comfort and speed. And yes, it does come in black.
Giving their most popular silos the sophisticated ‘Eclipse’ colourway is a great way to appeal to a wider audience; the lively colours of other boot releases can be a bit much for some people.
