Today adidas revealed their stunning new Silver inspired Mercury Pack.

With the Champions League Final, Euro's, and Copa America on the horizon - adidas have dropped this cutting edge range of boots inspired by the trophies that players around the world strive to win in order to write their names into the history books. While the Purecontrol receives a fresh colourway, the Mercury pack sees the introduction of 2 fresh silo's - the new X16 Purechaos, and the Messi+ Pureagility.

X16 Purechaos

Worn by the likes of Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez, the X is a boot engineered to provide players with speed, explosiveness, and agility - all with the end goal in mind - cause chaos! Having seen various colourways for the previous X15, this new design has been unveiled with an altogether more simplistic look to it. A bold adidas logo on the outside of the boot is an aesthetic that hasn't been seen on adidas boot designs for some time. Our photo below shows the Artificial Ground (AG) soleplate, while the highest model (X16+) has a similar chrome effect soleplate to the Messi and Purecontrol models shown further on. One of the most noticeable technical aspects is the new state-of-the-art purecut sock system, which covers the boot laces in order to not only give players the ultimate fit but also provide a more aerodynamic effect.

Messi+ Pureagility

Without doubt Messi is adidas' ultimate poster boy. It comes as no shock to us, that, in the build up to the Copa America the Argentine wizard receives a fresh new look for his signature model. As you would expect, the Messi 16+ Pureagility comes with all the latest football boot tech from the adidas boffins. Similar to the X16, this model comes with a purecut sock system, to give players an extra spring in their step as well as enhanced comfort and support. To compliment this further the Messi 16+ comes with a pureagility heel lining which locks the foot in further for confidence in movement at speed. The pièce de résistance of this boot has to be the soleplate - a dazzling chrome effect that defenders up against Messi will be seeing a lot of this summer!

Ace 16+ Purecontrol

One of adidas' most remarkable boots of late is the 16+ Purecontrol. Unveiled in January, the Purecontrol is the first top-end boot to feature a laceless design. No laces. No problem. Seen at the feet of stars such as Paul Pogba and Mesut Ozil, the Ace range is designed for the players who prefer to control the game, with pronounced ownership over the ball's movement. Having previously seen colourways involving Green, Black and Blue, the Purecontrol receives the Mercury Pack treatment to remarkable effect. The metallic look adorning the upper of the boot is extended further to the soleplate, which wouldn't look out of place in an art gallery. The future is very much here. You'll do well to miss these on the French stage this summer.
