The Nike Mercurial Superfly V CR7 is just as much about the story behind the boot as it is about the technology that was built into it.
The boot is part of the long-running series by Nike and Cristiano Ronaldo, this is Chapter 3: Discovery. When playing for his first club in Lisbon who play in green and white, he played against what would be his next club and impressed so much, the players he ran circles around, begged their manager to sign in. The rest is history.
The Superfly V has some extraordinary features, the innovative Flyknit wraps around the foot forming an almost second skin, team this with the Flywire cables and it provides crazy levels of lockdown.
Textured speed ribs help your touch, helping create friction to keep you in control while toying with those defenders. Featuring a Dynamic Fit collar around the ankle creating a sock like sensation, an almost seamless transition.
The firm ground soleplate of the CR7 Superfly is a new 3D speed plate, it conforms to the contours of your foot, while the aggressive stud pattern maximises launch to increase acceleration and speed.
The colours of the boot are inspired by the team he started his career at, we have two tones of green, notably “seaweed” and “volt”, these two distinct colours compliment each other well splitting the design. While on the outside of the foot, you will see an array of silver dots that create a pattern similar to the original Mercurial Vapor from 2002, the boots he wore in that very match.
The Nike Mercurial Superfly V Flyknit CR7 is certainly a boot with a brilliant story and great technology behind it.
